Say NO to violation on road
LAHORE: The government of Pakistan has the potential to deliver in every sector and hopefully Punjab will establish its first Road Safety Authority this year. This was stated by road safety policy specialist from the United Kingdom, Lance Trevor Fogg, on Thursday.
He, along with an international road safety delegation from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Italy, visited Rescue 1122 headquarters. The delegation also met Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer to review road safety legislation and the action plan to establish the Punjab Road Safety Authority.
The delegation reviewed the Road Safety Legislation, Road Safety Action Plan and gave recommendations for the subsequent establishment of the Road Safety Authority to prevent the increasing number of deaths and disabilities due to accidents. Dr Rizwan said the Punjab government had notified the Punjab Road Safety Authority and they were trying to establish a comprehensive mechanism to improve road safety.
