Say NO to violation on road
The 3rd National Steering Committee for 'Development of Road Safety Plan for National Highways & Motorways of Pakistan' on 10 April 2018 at the head office of the National Highway Authority (NHA) in Islamabad to deliberate on decisions to improve road safety on all roads across the country.
NTU's road safety team has held a five-day training course in road safety engineering. The training was provided for specialists of the National Highway Authority (NHA), National Highways & Motorways Police (NH&MP) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Islamabad, and took place from the 20th-24th of November. The NTU led Road Safety Technical Assistance to Pakistan, administered by the Asian Development Bank, and financed by the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom delivered the training course.
A national consultation workshop "Towards an Effective Partnership for Safer Road Travel" held on 10 May 2017 highlighted the importance of effective implementation of a comprehensive National Road Safety Strategy and Plan. The consultation organised by the Ministry of Communication, Government of Pakistan as part of the $15.4 million project under the Pakistan Economic Corridors Programme (PECP) administered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
LAHORE: An international road safety delegation from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Italy visited the Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Thursday and reviewed road safety legislation and action plan for establishment of the Punjab Road Safety Authority. The delegation was accompanied by Hameed Akhtar, Director Roads Federal Ministry of Communications, Pakistan.

The members of the delegation included team leader and road safety policy specialist Lance Trevor Fogg, deputy team leader Khushal Khan, vehicle safety and post crash specialist Tony Bowis, road safety engineering specialist Edoardo Mazzia, road safety campaign specialist Stoiciu Andrei and local campaign specialist Muhammad Shahid. The delegation was accompanied by Federal Ministry of Communications Director (Roads) Hameed Ullah.

LAHORE: The government of Pakistan has the potential to deliver in every sector and hopefully Punjab will establish its first Road Safety Authority this year. This was stated by road safety policy specialist from the United Kingdom, Lance Trevor Fogg, on Thursday. He, along with an international road safety delegation from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Italy, visited Rescue 1122 headquarters.
